speed, functionality, performance; love it. February 8, 2010 Joshua D. Carpenter (Vienna, WV) Ok, if you you're like me and you just want a great pc with high-speed processing, this processor is for you. I've built two machines with this model so far and couldn't complain with either; both operate at high speed like the day they were constructed, both handle multiple tasks large and small without so much as a blink.
The Q8200 is a great marriage of price and performance; I mean, it's a quad-core, for LESS than $200? You couldn't ask for much more, unless you're planning on running Windows 7 Pro's 'XP Mode' function, as the Q8200 lacks virtualization capabilities. this would probably be my only 'con', of sorts, though it wasn't a problem for me, maybe it is for you. Other than that one (minor from my perspective) issue, this is a great processor for the average pc user, average gamer, or just a tech geek like myself (wink). I recommend it.
Speed! December 15, 2009 Clinton Frankland (Dawsonville, GA USA) I cannot believe the speed of this thing. I upgraded from a dual core E2180, and the difference is amazing. I researched the ugprade using Passmark benchmarks, and this processor was by far the best bang for the buck. I was not disappointed!
Fast and cool and quiet October 27, 2009 Average Joe (Arizona) This processor performs extremely well on all banchmark tests for x86 and x64 busniess and game software for a great price. The Windows Experience Index Processor Subscore is 5.9, compared with 5.1 for a Core 2 Duo 2.3 GHz processor. The processor runs cool (35 deg. C) and the fan is completely silent.
No Virtualization October 21, 2009 Charles S. Shiflett 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Some revisions of the Q8200 & Q8300 lack the intel VT extension. Without this extension, any attempt at Virtualization will fail. Even if you think you don't care about Virtualization, you should still strongly consider the q9xxx series which have the intel VT extension.
very good March 5, 2009 Khin H. Tay (usa) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I received Q8200 earlyer. it's in sealed box with fan. it's work perfect with my mother board (intelDG31PR)I bouth the part from portertech.com they sent me used parts when I returned the parts they charged me 15% restocking fee.it's better buy from amazon.com.
