Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description
The Koss PortaPro collapsible stereophone combines high-quality sound reproduction with a unique design for the ultimate in convenience and comfort. These over-the-head headphones have a dynamic element design for deep bass performance and a frequency response of 15 to 25,000 Hz to ensure the music comes through clear and bright.

Also designed for comfort, these headphones have two adjustable temporal-comfort zone pads to shift the pressure and perfectly balance the ear plates on your ear. The open-earphone ear plates are multipivoting and, together with the adjustable headband, allow for maximum comfort.

The PortaPros are collapsible and come with a carrying case, so it's still easy to take them with you even when you're not wearing them. A 0.25-inch adapter is included to ensure they will fit with any system.

Koss offers a lifetime warranty on its PortaPro stereophones.

1 out of 5 stars Vey disappointed with built quality   October 11, 2008
M. Sheikh (NE, PA)
I was looking for decent quality foldable headphones and decided to buy this item primarily based on the positive reviews on Amazon. I don't know what these reviewers were looking at but for me it turned out to be an extremely poorly made product. Sound quality is relatively fine but the look and feel of these headphones is quite cheap. The plastic parts have sharp edges; the ear piece attachments are flimsy and covered by foam padding found in dollar store headphones. The adjustable head strap is made of thin steel strips and easily catches on hair on your head and certainly not comfortable to wear. Save your money buy something else. I'm sending mine back.

5 out of 5 stars Suprising Balanced Sound for Cheap   October 8, 2008
M. Tymchuk (Canada)
I bought these headphones last week right here on Amazon after seeing all the rave reviews for these headphones all over the web from both users and critics. With shipping and taxes, they cost around $60 - nice and cheap.

These phones have the best sound I have ever heard coming from such inexpensive headphones. The treble, midrange, and bass are all present and quite well balanced - something which I which more headphones I've purchased in the past did. I must really remark on how surprisingly good the bass is - its punchy and light, and not muddy at all. There is some problems with occasional background crackling, but it is almost completely unnoticeable, and might just be problems with my mp3s.

The phones themselves are small and, as their name implies, very portable. The folding option works well and fits in almost any jacket pocket.

The phones are quite comfortable, but can cause some fatigue during extended listening periods - mostly due to my large head. The "Comfort Zone" slider is quite useful and is good at alleviating some of that aforementioned fatigue.

These phones might not go with some people's personal style, but I personally think they look fine. Its nice to wear headphones that make you stick out.

Altogether, I cannot recommend the Koss PortaPro enough. If you like great sounding music at a nice low price, you can't loose with these phones. Buy them.

5 out of 5 stars Work with iphone   September 30, 2008

These are simply the best portable headphones on the maket. Yes, still - even after all those years. Moreover - those I've bought about 1 month ago work also with the iphone. Must buy.

5 out of 5 stars PEOPLE THINK I PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THESE HEADPHONES :)   September 28, 2008

AMAZING SOUND!! THEY SOUND AS GOOD AS THOSE VERY EXPENSIVE HEADPHONES. I USE THEM ON MY DIGITAL KEYBOARD AND CLEARLY HEAR EVERY NOTE ALL THE WAY TO THE HIGHEST NOTE OF THE 88 KEYS. GREAT QUALITY SOUND AND VERY COMFORTABLE TO WEAR. DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY. GET THESE HEADPHONES AS THEY ARE A GIFT AT THIS PRICE.

3 out of 5 stars environment-dependent   September 16, 2008

Very comfortable; Collapses into a very handy little ball (including locking hook) that slides most gracefully into the carrying pouch.

Sound good in quiet environments, however the on-the-ear (versus an over-the-ear) design does little or nothing to block extraneous noises (i.e. if you use it in a gym that pipes loud music, the competition is way too stiff).
