A Bad Purchase May 16, 2006 Dorothy (Midwest, USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I just got my iPod nano today. Having read reviews on the internet claiming this particular make scratches easily, I purchased the DLO Jam Jacket-the only clear protective case the store sold. I got in the car, opened the iPod and then the jam jacket case. I looked at it stymied. In my hand I held a piece of rubber with little holes-and no apparent place in which to take out the display model and put in my nano. I had to finally had to stretch the case open where the recharger goes and hold the end with my knees when putting the nano in. It took me the whole car ride home (20 minutes) to get it in there (don't worry, I wasn't driving) I finally got home and set it on my desk. When I went back a few minutes later, I could barely see the screen! This jacket is a dust magnet, and that stuff isn't very removable on a rubber surface. Not to mention the enourmous air bubbles forming on the protective layer over the screen- making it impossible to read. As for the jacket's claim to be clear, just barely. When attempting to register my purchase, I couldn't even see the serial number on the back. I literally ahd to pry the ridiculous case off. Giving it 1 star, because it does do what it promises, protects my nano. It just made me want to punch a hole through the wall in process.
I am definitely going back tomorrow to see if I can return it.
It protects your iPod, BUT-- May 4, 2006 msanjim (VA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This jacket is horrible. The material is very soft and somewhat sticky, so it does provide "slip protection" as the packaging claims, but it also attracts dirt and dust and is very difficult to clean.
Also, it is nearly impossible to put the case on or take it off. The grip is SO STRONG that the iPod sticks to the case and resists being pulled off. Since there is no way to open the case, you need to force one of the small openings in the case (like the opening for the click wheel, or the opening for the dock connector port) open and force the IPod through that, which risks tearing the case itself.
Also, if you plan on using the Griffin iTrip, you need to remove the case because since the iTrip is a dock, the iPod won't fit on with the added bulk of the jacket. The effort involved with taking the case on or off has led me to just leave the jacket off so that I can use my iTrip every once in awhile.
In short, I rated this jacket two stars out of five because it will protect your iPod from scratches, and it protects the screen. I really would NOT recommend this product, however, because there are much more efficient and functional products out there that will do the same thing with much less hassle.
iPod Nano DLO Jam Jacket March 13, 2006 Matt Montoya 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this and I was very disappointed at the case here's why. 1.The white part of the case attracts nothing but dirt and lint. 2.The screen protector attracts nothing but dirt and lint. 3.The screen protector makes alot of air bubbles. 4.The screen protector is a rubbery kind, and most aren't. 5.Hard to put the iPod in and hard to take out. 6.The case cuts of the edges of the screen. 7.The case looked liked the headphones couldn't go in the headphone jack, but I was so sure I was going to take it back, I didn't even bother.
There are 7 reasons not to get this. Although the case has 1 or 2 good things, there is just so much better to choose from. You might want to search for Speck cases.
