Switched and haven't went back August 1, 2010 R. Stricklin (Savannah, Tn) I've switched completely from Windows to Ubuntu. I've in the past used various versions of Linux. This is the best I've seen. If you can't switch from windows to ubuntu you can't actually use windows.
It's linux easy. June 12, 2010 N. Geninatti (U.S.A.) Ubuntu is one of the easiest Distros of GNU Linux to install. 8.10 is a little dated now though. Look into [...] for the latest release to purchase.
P.S. It can also be gotten for free there. But you have to d/l and burn it to disk yourself.

I give zero stars for my last purchase, the CD was damaged. I called Amazon to report this problem. So far I did not receive CD replacement.

This is a software cd which I used to install a new OS. The software appears to be running very well..

I love Ubuntu. I've been using it as my only operating system for my non-work laptop for about 3 years. I'm never going back to Windows. But I'm a computer geek.
If you have to pay someone [...] to put a Linux distribution on a DVD for you, then Linux is not for you. You can get this exact thing from [...] for free. If you are not proficient enough with a computer to do that on your own, then you are not proficient enough with a computer to use Linux/Ubuntu.
