| Customer Reviews: Bad quality control. August 17, 2010 Duc.Nguyen 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Order this item because I like its layout but it come with all seal broken, torn off plastic bag and extremely bend heatsink. Please don't buy this product from Amazon buy from somewhere else.
RETURNED BOARD being sold as NEW- all seals broken August 9, 2010 whatever (san jose, ca) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very same thing happened to me- the 2 "Quality Assurance" stickers/seals on the board were opened, everything was neatly packed inside, and the antistatic bag the board is in had at least 2 (maybe 3?) stickers sealing it because they couldn't get the original sticker off.
This is an expensive piece of delicate electronics and you're nuts to accept an open-box item as new and use it in your system- you have no idea what's happened to that board.
This should have been sold open-box for anyone who wanted a huge discount along with the risk that it was not right.
Fraudulent service(RMA motherboard conditions on arrival) April 12, 2010 EvoChu (California, USA) 6 out of 14 found this review helpful
CONS: I selected the option for this product to be sold and shipped from amazon BRAND NEW. The motherboard package came shipped with dents and scratches. Upon inspecting the box, it was revealed that the item had either been used or RMA. The quality assurance seals were broken. The anti-static bag for the motherboard was resealed with an old sticker residue carefully hidden. Another serious issue was the heatsink bent at a 45 degree angle blocking the PCI express slot, demolishing the purpose of having a 4-way SLI mainboard. According to another customer Jmiah22, this has happened before. This has cause a critical setback. I am now hesitant to buying other components from Amazon.com to build my PC.
PROS: This motherboard has fast performance and compatibility for additional components upgrades such as 24gb ram. The additional ability to 4 way SLI makes it great for rendering programs such as Adobe Photoshop & Premiere.
Awesome Board! March 14, 2010 Jmiah22 (Pennsylvania - United States) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I did a lot of research prior to building my new system and discovered that EVGA has some of the best products. All products come with a LIFETIME warranty (you absolutely cannot beat that these days)! You *DO* need to register your product within 30 days to receive the lifetime warranty but I do not see the big deal about that.
The first board I ordered through Amazon came with the northbridge heatsink bent. I returned the board to Amazon and purchased another. The second one arrived with the northbridge heatsink bent even worse. I am not sure who Amazon's supplier is, but was told by the manufacturer that somebody somewhere along the line is damaging these boards. Both boards arrived with the quality assurance seals broken and the anti-static bags that the boards are in were unsealed, then resealed (there were shreds of the original sticker left behind.) I do not know who or why anybody would need to open these motherboards unless they had both been RMA's before and just resold as new. I finally had to RMA through EVGA to get an undamaged board. They have great service, I cannot recommend EVGA enough, they put up with a lot from me getting this straightened out and went above and beyond what I've ever had a company do for customer satisfaction.
When you get an undamaged board they are AWESOME! The system I just built is based on this board with Intel Core i7 975E CPU, Corsair 12 GB DDR3 1600 Dominator RAM, Corsair P128 128 GB SSD, Corsair HX1000 PSU, Thermaltake Armor+ VH600LBWS case, EVGA GTX 285 graphics card, Auzentech HomeTheater HD audio card and two LG DVD/CDR combo drives.
