Unlike most flat screen monitors this one has adjustable viewing angle AND HEIGHT! Sharp Resolution from 1024 X 768 to 1600 x 1200 Included both Analog and Digital signal cables
Cons: High Price Awkward controls
Product OK but customer service is worse than the phone company! December 28, 2007 Mr. T. D. Pittsford (Nevada City, CA USA) After buying a number of Viewsonic monitors over the years I found them to be a fairly good brand. However my recent experience with that company was less than acceptable by ANY standards. This unit failed several months ago and I sent it in to get fixed. I got it back and since I bought a Samsung to replace it, didn't hook it up until a few months later. It lasted two days before blowing up completely. I called them and after more than a hour on hold, finally was told that they would replace the monitor with another unit. I shipped it back to the warehouse and they recieved it on Dec 13th. That was the last I heard from them. I called again and waited on hold for another hour until the rep came on only to tell me that this model was not in stock and she couldn't tell me just when it would ship but said she would contact me the next day with a status report. This didn't happen so I called their "support" number and this time was on hold for TWO HOURS until someone condescended to answer the call. I am told that the reason for the unseemly delay is that there were only FIVE (5) support reps because they had closed their support center on the east coast and they were "short-handed" at the Walnut, CA facility. I then discover now that the monitor that was to have been replaced was out of stock but was due in a week from today. When the rep tried to put this replacement into the system, (again, on hold for another 20 minutes) the system (new, by the way as of December 2nd)tossed out the request because the monitor was now out of warranty! I tried to explain that it had failed the second time only two days after installation but all they could see was that it was "out of warranty". I've done a LOT of business with Viewsonic for the last ten years and have probably spent upwards of $20,000. Never again will I do business with that company unless they send me the cost of that monitor or at least send a replacement. Even then, I will be looking at Samsungs from now on as my first choice.
Not The Best April 11, 2007 Phil Moss (California) I have had a number of ViewSonic LCD Monitors over the years and this one seemed a bit off in the color & brightness/contrast department. I have a VP2030b which I prefer. The D-SUB & DVI-A/D connectors and height adjustment are handy.
A Terrific Monitor February 5, 2007 S. Echter (Golden, CO) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This monitor is a terrific value if you are looking for a 21" monitor that is not a widescreen style. Contrast, brightness, and viewing angle compares favorably to monitors costing hundreds of dollars more. I have not had any trouble in the first few months I have owned it and I will purchase another one for work.
Short Lifespan November 30, 2006 Don Gay (Kansas City, MO) 5 out of 19 found this review helpful
I purchased 2 Viewsonic LCD monitors and both lasted about a year and a hald before the left side of the screens went dark. No diagnostic queries or interactions could bring them back to normal. I contacted cxustomer support and was told that Viewsonic would do nothing. Maybe I was stupid or naive by not geting a warranty beyond the first year, but I assumed that a good product, made with good parts, from a company that desires to satisfy its customers with a good QA/QC program to ensure that quality products were being produced, could make a product (or 2) that would last more than a year and a half. Faulty assumption. With 2 LCD monitors having the same problem, lasting about the same length of time, and on 2 different computer systems, this strongly indicates to me a non-coincidental problem within Viewsonic. I will not buy anything from Viewsonic again. I will spend a little more, if I have to, to buy a reliable product from a reliable company.
