Product Description Built on the Kinergy Design, the BenQ V2400W makes a bold yet charming statement of modern simplicity. Born in the imagination and designed with kinetic beauty, the V2400W is the crafted face of modern perfection.Breaking through traditional thinking about symmetry, the BenQ V2400W's asymmetric base stand design brings an end to "staid" design. The beauty of movement has now been captured for you to enjoy.

Great value for a great product October 27, 2008 R. Higgs 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This BenQ monitor is probably the best 24" available at it's great price. The lack of a height adjustment is it's only major downfall in my opinion. Because of the cost it only has 3 connections (VGA, DVI, HDMI) but the fact that there is an HDMI port at all definitely sold me on it. I use this exclusively as a screen for my Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 and for that purpose it's fantastic, both for games and DVD/Blu-Ray movies. I get full 1080p resolution and the sound from the HDMI port comes through the headphone jack which allowed me to set it up to my speakers. The buttons on the front are smooth, touch-sensitive and have a nice blue backlight to them when touched. This monitor also excels at giving deep blacks and the default brightness is a little bit lower than other monitors I've seen (which I prefer). All in all, this is a great product for the price it's offered. It's not as full featured as other monitors, but if you're looking for an inexpensive solution to your gaming/movie needs then this is a great choice.
Good but not perfect October 12, 2008 Jeffrey A. Pinard 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used this in comparison with about 3 other LCD displays and while the overall build quality was great and the LCD itself was in perfect shape, there are some compromises to be made for a gamer or coder.
1. Because it's a TN panel the viewing angle is extremely limited. A huge mistake BenQ made was having a fixed base which means if you can't alter the height of "you and your keyboard" you will be stuck at an angle that will greatly diminish the contrast of darks. In fact the up/down on this display is so sensitive that moving your head up 2" can make the difference between seeing mid/dark blues vs. no blues at all (top of images) and instead it appears black.
2. Color accuracy was average and for some reason I could not get grey's dialed in no matter what settings I used. Therefore I'd conclude the grey/black reproduction on this isn't that spectacular. If you wanted to get better contrast in your gaming you have to settle for all your whites being light blue instead. I realize this is common across many LCD presets, but it would have been nice to have more control otherwise.
3. Sharpness setting made no visual differences.
I did like the BenQ, but it didn't have the vibrancy in games that other competitive displays have. On the plus side it was super fast even without the grey-to-grey boost and there was no perceptible input lag or ghosting.
Also the description for this item is flat out wrong on Amazon's site. This display if flat-matte and has no glossiness to it anywhere. Not even on the plastic.
Text was very sharp but was often overshadowed by the dull grey look (when optimized so you don't go blind from brightness).
I would have kept this display if the following were changed:
1. Partial glossy screen. 2. Vertical adjustment. 3. Dump heat sensitive buttons for OSD. I'd rather use a pencil to hit buttons than my fingers. 4. Little less "dirty screen-door" image look and better grey gradients.
Great Wide Screen LCD Really Helps See Your Work Better !! October 7, 2008 Paul A. Ballard (Bethesda, MD, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this BenQ V2400W 24in LCD monitor because my 13in laptop (Dell M1330)screen isn't big enough to work on spreadsheets or read online magazines efficiently. So far, I have been extremely pleased with the BenQ, It hooked up to my laptop easily. It has great HDMI definition. Color and sharpness and brightness and contrast are very good indeed. Also the V2400W model weighs under 14lbs, and is extremely thin - about 3in.so it fits easily on my desk. I would strongly recommend this product. But just be aware it has no external speakers built-in - I have a separate surround speaker system anyway.
