1 out of 5 stars Q.Q. is right! Avoid!   February 21, 2010

This is indeed an outdated version. I got mine shortly before Leopard was released ( Got my Mac at school time ), the software worked then. Once upgraded, was informed by the program this version will no longer work and I need to BUY the latest version. Not going to happen! I've since learned you can easily switch icons yourself safely, and there are free programs available to change you dock. Check around the net, search You Tube, and avoid this version.

Mine wouldn't work. The activation code that was included in the box didn't activate the product. After MANY emails back and forth with the manufacturer I was informed that this AMAZON product is an old outdated version. After several days back and forth with the manufacturer I was sent software which worked, but missing some of the ad-ons that came with the original disk from Amazon. upon trying to use the software I did not find much utility in it and I deleted it from my Mac -- and I returned the boxed disk to Amazon for a refund.

Have been using candybar since I switched over from the PC several years ago. It allows you to change and redesign your icons easily & quickly, making your mac special. Still can't do Microsoft Office (I use Get Info to change that) but it does everything else. It's fun and a great complementary app for your beloved mac!

Didn't think they could get anymore fabulous? Think again. By using Candy Bar Plus, you can simply drag and drop your favorite icons into Candy Bar, and that's it! Simple, easy to use, and Candy Bar Plus also comes with many icons for you to use. With all that said, there is one glitch, at least on my Mac. When changing my icons back to the original, sometimes it doesn't work. It may be my Macintosh, not the program ( I have the new iMac with Intel ) But even the glitch isn't enough to keep me from using this product, and I highly recommend it.

My gal Sara bought this because she's been a Mac person forever (I'm a former Window's person, who's made the switch) and has been used to using ResEdit to design her own icons under System 7 through 9. So now she's at it again, changing, rearranging and creating icons and I have to say, it's infectious. Who says the boys in Cupertino have to have the last say on what your desktop is going to look like. Want Microsoft Word to appear as a devil on the screen. You got it. You also get a thousand free icons with the program to start. Good ones. Macs have always been unique, now they are more so. Thumbs up from me for CandyBar Plus.
