| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description DDR2 is a leading-edge generation of memory with an improved architecture that allows it to transmit data very fast. 240-pin DIMMs are used to provide DDR2 SDRAM memory for desktop computers. Each 240-pin DIMM provides a 64-bit data path (72-bit for ECC or registered or Fully Buffered modules). A dual inline memory module (DIMM) consists of a number of memory components that are attached to a printed circuit board. The gold pins on the bottom of the DIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board.

WONDERFUL FOR BUDGET BUYERS! March 14, 2008 W. Li 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Cheap stuff but works really good! That is all I need! As not a hard-core gamer nor an IT prof, I found it serves good in my desktop.
Wrong Item shipped - bad follow through service October 19, 2007 deadxmen (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered the Crucial / 1GB / 200-pin SODIMM / DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module. However, what was shipped was something completely different. They shipped me the 240-pin module instead of the 200 pin sodimm. When I called Crucial/Amazon, they were unwilling to exchange the items for the correct ones. They wanted to charge me more for the items that I had already paid for. It "wasn't their problem" that I had received the wrong items. After spending 45 minutes on the phone arguing the matter, they gave me two options, pay more for the 1GB / 200-pin SODIMM / DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module or refund it entirely. Rather than submit to the bait and switch tactics that they were employing, I had them refund the entire order. It would be my suggestion that Amazon not do business with retailers who will not honor what was on the invoice or advertised on the website. Shady business practices by Crucial will only hurt both Amazon's and Crucial's reputation. Needless to say, I will not be ordering anything from Crucial ever again. Next time I order from Amazon, I will be a little more weary about ordering an item that comes from a third party. In the meantime, I will have to take my business elsewhere since Crucial was unwilling to resolve the issue.
Return Policy Could Use Some Work September 13, 2007 Scott A. Griswold (New London, NH United States) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I ordered Qty 2 of Crucial / 1GB / 200-pin SODIMM / DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module. Instead I received 240Pin Modules. Simple Mistake. A quick phone call should get my memory exchanged right? Wrong. They first tried to charge me more my telling me the price was listed wrong. My fault? No. After complaining about that fact, they then offered to stand by the price. Then they tried to tell me that I would be liable for return shipping. On a product they incorrectly shipped?? I can't review the product, but I can tell anyone considering ordering product from Crucial to hope that they get what they paid for the first time. They tried to say it was an Amazon issue with the incorrect price. Again, My fault? No. I buy what I see at the price I see and expect to get that item at that price. Anything less an I'm going to be disappointed. In the end, they shipped me new ram and sent me a UPS return shipping label for the wrong ram. But not without having to question their every attempt to avoid this. My reason for ordering from Amazon was that their listed price was better than Crucial direct. Next time I'll just order direct from Crucial and avoid the possibility there is an issue with Amazon, if I decide to order from them again at all.
