5 out of 5 stars Good product   August 21, 2008

I use Ubuntu GNU/Linux 64 bits with a core 2 duo 2.0GHz.

I didn't note de diference betwen 4GB and 1GB (1GB was the original memory amount) in daily stuff but few days ago I opened nearly 250 images at the same time (250 windows) and the system resisted very well with the 4GB. It really worth the price.

1 out of 5 stars Go for other brands   July 28, 2008

I bought this one and as mentioned by other reviewer, vista home premium recognized only 3 gb RAM. Then I herad from one of my friend that CORSAIR's VS4GSDSKIT667D2 is optimized for vista. I bought that one (Corsair 2gb*2) and now my laptop's OS (Vista home premium) recognized full 4Gb and is working fine.

4 out of 5 stars Works well... but may hit on battery life   July 18, 2008

I had no problems dropping this memory into my 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro, and it's made working simultaneously with Mac OS X and VMWare Windows XP Pro much easier.

I gave 4 stars because I've noticed that my battery doesn't last as long with the PNY 4 GB as it did with the native Apple 2 GB. A friend suggested I watch for that, and it seems to be the case though I didn't do objective testing. I don't know if it's a matter of more transistors to power, less efficient design, or both.

Either way, I'm not going back to 2 GB, especially for less than $100.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent ram at an excellent price   July 8, 2008

Works perfectly in my Dell M1210 laptop, at an excellent price. The issue with Windows not sensing the full amount of the ram is due to a limitation of 32 bit Windows, not of the ram. It has made a definite improvement in the performance of my computer.

5 out of 5 stars Lightening speed at a great price!   June 19, 2008

I bought a pair of these and doubled the 2GBs that my HP dv6500t came with. Two important things (both positive.) 1)Unlike the experience of some other users and reviewers, my Vista 32-bit system shows all 4 GBs (not the three the same OS shows with 4GBs loaded into my DELL desktop) and, more importantly, 2) The speed of the laptop is now lightening fast. It was no slouch with the 2GBs, but now - well, if you appreciate speed you'll find this very modestly priced upgrade well worth your while. No problems whatever.
