Clarification for other buyers October 20, 2008 B. Hernandez-Engle (NY) I have this product and I am buying another set because of how much the prices have dropped. I am very happy with it.
For the other reviewers:
I have a 790i mobo as well. This product does run at the rated speeds (and above, I am at DDR3 1700). The 790i auto configures it to 1333, so you just have to go in and set it to the rated speed, very easy. I believe it is Alt+F2 during Post (When the vendor (XFX in my case)shows up). Read your manual for specific instructions.
Great Mem for the price June 13, 2008 Istvan Belucz (Studio City ,CA) Well they advertise this mem can run @ 7-7-7-24 on 1600Mhz but that's not the case at least not in the XFX 790i board with the latest Bios , anyway the mem runs great on 1800mhz 9-9-9-24 so i can't complain I got 2x1 and i am about to order 2x1 more so i get 4 gig at least....
This set is more like DDR3-1333 Memory April 6, 2008 Alex V. Striganov (Irvine, CA, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In reality this set is a good DDR3-1333 memory, but not DDR3-1600. It works perfectly at 7-7-7-20-1T@1333Mhz(667Mhz)@1.5V (automatic settings by the Motherboard), but it is unstable at advertised 7-7-7-20-2T@1600MHz(800MHz)@1.9V, in several modes even without over-clocking of the CPU I couldn't start Windows using 790i motherboard with the latest 03 (03/15/08) BIOS. With weaker time settings 8-8-8-24-2T@1600MHz@1.9V it works a bit better, but still unstable.
1 Module name is OCZ XTC Platinum OCZ3P160001G (Got this info using CPU-Z ver 1.44.2 and/or Lavalys Everest ver. 4.50.1300 or beta ver 4.50.1347), the set's name is OCZ3P160002GK.
