3 out of 5 stars dissapointed with shipping   August 25, 2008
rleal
This is not a review for the actual memory which i have not recieved yet. but more of a rant on the shipping policies.
I ordered the memory on the 17th of august, which was in stock and i qualified for the free super saving shipping. and the policy said it may take an additional 3-5 days to arrive. Now since it was in stock i assumed it was going to be shipped right away, and accepted that it may take an additional amount of time for it to arrive. 4 days later after seeing that it had not shipped out yet i sent an email to Amazon, and was responded too the following day . they Customer Rep wrote ""your order may take an additional 3 to 5 business days to ship out from our fulfillment center(s)." This extra time allows us to process and ship your order in the most cost-efficient way possible, so we can pass the savings on to you in the form of free shipping. Now i did a quick scan of the policies and i did read of the additional 3-5 days, but i didnt read the "ship out from our fulfillment centers". Maybe its there, i didnt go in-depth. the order was place on Sunday, so i understand that it was not going to be shipped that day. but to wait 5 whole days to ship. Unacceptable!

Well, 5 days later, when it finally did shipped out, ( thats the 22nd for those keeping count) i found out my address is RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD from where it will be shipped ( less then 30 mins away!), needless to say, i was extremely mad, but what the heck. i'll get it tomorrow. ( since it is down the road), next day i looked in the mail, and nothing! afterwards i looked at the tracking info again, and it has an estimated arrival time of the 29th of august. thats 12 days of shipping for a package that can be counted in ounces not in lbs and for an item that was in stock at the time of ordering. This is Bad Form all around, Amazon dropped the ball on this, which surprises me. I have ordered stuff in the past and up to know have nothing bad to say about Amazon. Tomorrow is the 25th and i hope my package arrives. what really gets me mad i will have to order another stick soon and was hoping to do it a few days later. ( the 22nd to be exact) but now i'm going to hold off on the purchase. I hope this is not a new trend so we can start to pay for the shipping, and not use the free super saving shipping. My guess is this was just a bad shipping order. Lets hope so.

5 out of 5 stars Reasonable price, works great on MacBook   July 31, 2008

Brought 2 of these 2GB RAM from Amazon and received the next day. My MacBook now happily runs with 4GB RAM, and can easily run VMWare Fusion without a problem. The price is right, too.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product, Great Value   July 14, 2008

I bought this to upgrade the RAM in my Eee PC 701, based on a positive review by another user. I have upgraded the RAM in two other laptops and the process is incredibly simple - just unsnap & remove the existing RAM and insert & snap the new. Presto!! Increased memory.

I was a little unsure with the Eee PC because of possible compatibility issues, but this was needless worry on my part. The process is exactly the same - remove the old & insert the new.

Kingston is a top shelf product and Amazon is a top line vendor. Impossible to lose with either one.
