Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
In short, 204-pin small outline dual inline memory modules (SODIMMs) are the form factor used to provide DDR3 memory modules for notebook computers and other small form factor computing platforms. 204-pin SODIMMs are currently available in PC3-8500 (DDR3 1066MHz) speeds. To use DDR3 memory, your system must have both a 204-pin SODIMM slot and a chipset that supports DDR3 memory. A DDR3 SODIMM will not fit into DDR2 or DDR memory sockets. (Information about which memory technology your system uses is included in the Crucial Memory Advisor tool.) SODIMMs are smaller and thinner than regular DIMMs, and the 204-pin SODIMM PCBs are always ~2.6 inches long and are usually around 1.75 inches high (though the heights can vary slightly). They consist of a number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a printed circuit board (usually green). The number of memory components on a 204-pin SODIMM's printed circuit board (PCB) can vary, but the PCB will always have 102 pins on the front and the back both, for a total of 204 pins. The gold pins on the bottom of the SODIMM provide the connection between the memory module and the memory socket.

4 out of 5 stars Just installed 2x2GB kit to my Mac Mini, perfect   August 26, 2010
RitterH (Istanbul , Turkey)
My Mac Mini is an early 2009 Model which came with 1GB DDR 3 memory. I made a small research on the internet and of course on the Amazon site. The remarks on the crucial memory modules were great. I also checked the site since honestly this was the first time I heard the brand name. Anyway, I purchased the 2x2GB kit.

Only today I could find some spare time to install the memory kit. With the aid of a youtube video I installed the kit. Worked perfectly well and Mac Mini booted without any kind of problem. I checked from the system profiler and confirmed that the device reported the memory kit as normal.

I did not do an official benchmark but the mouse gestures are more smooth now. I would recommend the brand and the product.

I installed this RAM on my first-gen unibody Macbook Pro and boy did it make a difference. I highly recommend boosting your system with this RAM, you will certainly notice better performance when running multiple applications.

This is perfect if you want to upgrade your Macbook. It was easy to install and my Macbook recognized it immediately. Now programs like Photoshop take less than a second to load.

5 out of 5 stars Great affordable RAM for a Macbook!   July 24, 2010

What can you say? It's RAM. You pop it in and it does what is says. Crucial is always a quality brand and this is a solid deal.

5 out of 5 stars 4 GB Ram   July 21, 2010

Install was easy except I could not get 2 of the screws (on Macbook Pro) back in as new. The Ram works great.
