| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description This external USB 2.0 Hard Drive dissipates heat so efficiently that it doesn't need a fan - for nearly silent operation. Its durable aluminum chassis offers streamlined construction and superior heat dissipation to keep the hard drive operating at a safe, cool temperature for years of use. The stackable design of CAUE37500 gives you a streamlined, uncluttered workplace and the hard drive's active LED read out indicates power and data access.

Dead after less than a year October 27, 2008 K. A. Young (CO) Great product when it worked. Used for around 9 months in a continuous mode. Sat next to my PC and functioned as my main HD. After 9 months, I found that it was dead one day. No warning, just one day it was dead. Probably will stick to the name brands for data storage from now on -- WD, Seagate, et al.
Around the world and back... and it still works October 21, 2008 Stuart Shirrell I bought this drive about a year and a half ago to use as a video storage drive for a trip to Rwanda. This sturdy drive managed to take all of my abuse, bumping down roads, being flung about in my bag, and all the other travails of technology in that country. When I got back to the States, the drive worked fine. I also took it to Moscow last summer, and the drive remains intact. It now functions as a Time Machine backup for my Mac. While not the fastest external hard drive, I've been impressed with its durability given what I've put it through.
A year and a half and still going strong. August 17, 2008 D. Kraus (Tell City, IN United States) I have had this external drive for over 18 months and use it every day. It has been great for my use. I bought it for back-up but I use it for more than that. It does run a little hot, but so far has had no effects on the drive.
A "great" external hard drive. August 13, 2008 Bwana (Humboldt County, CA. USA) I have three of these drives. I've already filled up one and it's in storage. I'm onto the second one now. This is a great external hard drive for the money. I have not run into any problems so far. I had a Maxtor drive that crashed, and it's "supposed" to be better. It cost me a fortune to retrieve the data. These Cavalry drives just keep working away with no problems.
It works fine for me August 5, 2008 Tyrone N. Turner (Savannah GA) I have not had any problems at all with this product. It made the trip to and from Afghanistan and is still going strong. Even the light cover broke off and its fine.
Anyone with a little common sence knows that electronics in general are very fragile. That being said, it should be fine if you dont let it fall off of your desk even once. You wouldn't expect your laptop or moniter to make the fall would you?
In any case I would recommend this product for anyone who has the sence to take care of it. I recently filled mine up and am now ordering the 1TB model.
