Amazing, a HD... With a soundtrack no less! September 13, 2008 Jason C. Wendling (Indianapolis, IN United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Blah, blah, blah. It is a hard drive.
Interesting note, however, it is noisy. Time to turn on the power saving features that suspend HDs if you want to be able to think over the dull noise.
Great External Storage May 26, 2008 Chris (Summerville, SC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have no complaints about this drive thus far. It worked just like it was supposed to right out of the box. The Firewire 800 transfer speeds are excellent. I like the automatic sleep feature as well. *Leopard users make sure to upgrade the firmware to the newest version to get the most compatibility out of this drive.
My Book Studio Review April 5, 2008 Steven R. Lindle (Ohio USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This WD device set up easily and has worked flawlessly as my backup and video drive
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT March 23, 2008 Matthew Dowell (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Prior to connecting the My Book, my G5 ran problem-free. After connecting the drive, I experienced multiple crashes. Sometimes the icon for the drive would show on the desktop, and other times it wouldn't. This drive seems to be flaky at best, and this is right out of the box.
In addition, the technical support I recieved from India was frustrating and conflicted with the e-mail technical support I recieved.
I returned the My Book for a refund. This review appears to be one among many poor reviews for Western Digital external hard drives.
Simple and easy with Time Machine February 26, 2008 Lady M. (New York) 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
I simply hooked up the firewire connection and then turned it on. Time Machine picked it right up and keeps on updating my back-ups every hour. Love it. I have checked the Time Machine back-ups and all is there. Obviously I am using a Mac so maybe that is why it works so well.
