I just purchased this and when I tried to use it, I received write errors and then it died. What type of quality control do they have? I'm returning it to Amazon ... thank god for Amazon's great customer service.

The Cavalry is very quiet and uploads very quickly for it's size, but on a 1.1 CPU it was a little slower am still very pleased with it's performance and quietness, this unit could compare to a small book and runs quite cool has a internal fan that keeps it cool, some run hot, runs extremely fast on my other computer which is 2.2 CPU I am very happy with the performance on that computer with the cavalry, you should consider this product I highly recommend the Cavalry

The hard drive works perfectly on my PC with Windows XP as of so far. You just plug it in and it's good to know. Data transfers are fast enough for my purposes (storing back-up copies of music, videos, and other personal files). On top of that, the device does not make too much sound while running. The device does heat up a bit if you leave it on for too long, but that's not much of a problem as long as you don't have the hard drive turned on 24/7. Overall, a fine piece of work.

Looked for an external hard drive that didn't require me to float a loan to purchase. This Cavalier 250GB hard drive filled the bill perfectly, an excellent product that looks good, works well, simple to install, and performs satisfactorily. Contrary to what others have said, I don't find the blue operating light to be annoying in any way. Good price,good H/D,good delivery.
