 Great upgrade from integrated video August 3, 2008

I installed this in an HP Pavilion A6152N running Vista primarily to support dual DVI monitors. The computer has only a 300 watt power supply, but it handles this video card just fine. It nearly doubled the Vista Windows Experience Index over against the original integrated video.
No discernible fan noise.

I have a Dell E510 with Pentium D and this video card is great upgrade option. NO need to update power supply.
The Zalman fan is close to silent even with graphics intense games. This fan also cools the 8600 GT great.
This card very good with shader unlike x300 and 7600 GT.

Pretty awesome video card for this price... I play GRAW2 with all settings high and highest resolution, Lost Planet with almost all settings on high without any problem or some kind of fps drops, and I must say this card is very silence too, overall if you are looking for a cheap, fast and overcloked video card this is your choice!

i bought this card for my new system, a core 2 duo with an asus p5n E-Sli.
At first it was hard to decide between this one and the fatal1ty version that has silent cooling and better bundle soft, but its more expensive, then i went on to find some reviews about zalman fans stating they are quieter tham other fans out there... taking that in mind, and the fact that i dont like silent cooling (it freaks me out that a video card can cool down without a fan) i went for this card. My friend bought the fatal1ty version.
We ran some games (assasins creed, COD 4, Flat out2, PES2008) FPS is the same on both versions, maybe fatal1ty has some advantage in some games, but when temperature comes in place, Zalman wins, i ran assasins creed 1024x768 full settings and card just got to 60 C, while my friends fatal1ty reached 78 C, in some cases, 80 C.
Its an amazing card if you're looking for a middlerange card and looking to add some power to your graphics system.

this card is amazing, is the more 8600gt overlocked in the market, the zalman fan is very good, is not noise, and the temperature works stable, i played any games at full settings and works for over 28fps.. perfect!!!
