5 out of 5 stars Outstanding value   August 4, 2008

I use my desktop PC for gaming and advanced pro-level photographic applications, including Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom (among other processing software).

My <2-year-old PC is already a pretty fast machine, with an Intel 3.4 gig CPU and 2 gigs of RAM and on-board ATI-200, but it was straining and choppy with the graphics of current games like NWN2 MOB. On the other hand, I didn't want to spend $300 - $600 for a graphics card to upgrade a computer that only cost about $500 to begin with.

This card is the perfect solution! Not only is the price right in the ballpark of reasonability, but I was very surprised at the improvement of the quality of the graphics. On rerunning some of the gaming sequences, the improvement was simply astonishing!

Great value and performance from a proven supplier in ATI Radeon.

4 out of 5 stars Very Good for HTPC, but expect to pay extra for HDMI adapter.   May 11, 2008

Just what the doctor order for HTPC users, or even casual users looking to step up from on-board graphics. Silent (it is passively cooled) and relatively cool running.

Doesn't come with HDMI Port or even HDMI adapter. The only other downside would be the relative lack of 3d power, which I honestly can't speak to as I've never put a 3d game on HTPC.

Unexpected upside... There was more to Aero than I thought. This card has more than enough oumph to unlock it.
