Best you can get June 24, 2008 Andrew R. Links (Albuquerque, New Mexico United States) wow..this was great buy and works better than reviews i have seen on pissed off people who got a 8800 ultra or a 8800 GTX....it was easy install and worth the money as it just kills any other buy on a videocard as the price to performace ratio is in the sweet spot for most people.
only negative is needing a dual rail power supply with 2 6 pin connectors as it did not say that...other than that this cards rocks so far.
Nice Performance. Way too LOUD ! June 22, 2008 J. Dolan (Dartmouth MA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well it is way too LOUD.. You have to blast your stereo or headphones to lessen the noise that this cards fan makes. I have a cooler master cosmos case, which is very quiet and insulated against noise. But this card is sooo loud that I can hear my computer is on from the other side of my house 40ft away. I wish I could have my computer outside and lock the door to play games so I can hear the game. Graphically the card is great. Just make sure you wear earplugs.
Good Videocard June 4, 2008 A. Ed (somewhere in the world) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This one is top of the line for a good price, is not the best because Ultras has more memory bandwith. But slightly difference.
Ok runs COD4 at 1650x1080 res. with full graphic settings in a smooth awesome way. Scores 15500 3dmarks full overclocked and runs so cool, it has a powerfull fan... I luv black color with these green decals.. go get it if u can afford one. Awesome hardware. Way to go EVGA! Thanks Amazon!
Monster performance for a reasonble price! May 30, 2008 Howard Mullis (new york, NY) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This card has been the best choice i'v made for my pc, i was going to go for the 9800 gx2, but after a few hours of thinking i went for this one and i'm happy i did. Crysis at high settings 40 fps the min, while playing online goes beyond the 100 fps (but it doesn't remain all the way up there for long). As people say, "this is the best bang for your buck." my rig if you're interested in knowing intel Q9450 (it took me months to finally find one), 4 gig corsair ram 800mhz, evga 780i mobo, and my evga 9800 gtx. Later!
Need better drivers May 26, 2008 Luis F. Vallese (Asuncion, Paraguay) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this card to replace my 8600 GTS. I have undoubtedly seen a great improvement in games, but playing crysis at very high with AA is still not possible. Anyway I'm really happy with my purchase although Nvidia should take time to improve their drivers. They're still very bad and are not unleashing the true power of this card.
